Based on what I read in my summer reading book, this year I'll try living the Marist Way by looking at life in a more open way. During the summer, that was something I struggled with quite a lot, and I want to learn how to do that. I want to be able to live a life where I'm proud of myself, both spiritually and in every other aspect. Being able to able to exist, and being able to be alive genuinely, is something that the main character of my book, Nora, struggled with a lot. So much so to the point that she ended her life completely. I want to be able to see the world that God has created through a happier lens, and I understand, yes, of course, life isn't always going to be happy, for goodness comes form misfortune. Even so, I do want to learn the lesson that Nora had at the end of the book, and thus, that's my way of showing the Marist Way.

This book has taught me the worth of life in itself, the beauty of just being able to be alive, and what good there is that one can offer the world even if at their lowest. Its inspired me to find more to look forward to life, something I didn't have too much of over the summer because of the horrible mental state I was in. Reading the Midnight Library allowed me to understand the world through Nora's perspective, something I didn't expect to relate to as much as I did. It's gotten me to anticipate more instead of less and sort of draw away from my overly pessimistic qualities, at least just a little bit. After reading this book, I started finding joy in the little things over the summer, like drawing definitely, or the gentle and almost tranquil stillness of the night and how cozy it feels.

My book helped me grow closer and expand on my relationship with God by taking more notice and appreciation of the world he's created and the things that he's done for us. It helped me understand Him on more of a deeper level, as with my appreciation of life in general, I found myself appreciating him More. It was definitely something that opened my eyes on my spiritual journey, and yes, even if I am still searching for God, still searching for a way to grow the bond that we already share, I do feel that this book provided a great stepping stone for that.

The moment when they finally understood and realized that both of them were struggling, finally realized the value of each other, was a very powerful moment within this book, and definitely one of the most defining moments of Nora's journey to not only appreciate being able to be alive but who she was as well.

This book helped me to notice and help the people in need of help like this summer we went to the lake in Tennessee. We had the smallest and slowest boat on the lake because it was a rental. When we were driving back from a long day from swimming in the lake in Tennessee we saw some people that looked like they were waving to say hi. Then we realized they needed help. There boat had died in the middle of the lake so they were just floating with no where to get help. We tried to jumpstart but it did not work so then we tied there boat to the back of ours and towed them all the way to the arena where the could get there boat started and and go back out on the water safely. Another way is when we were in Hawaii there was this big wave that knocked over my brother and instead of calling for my parents I grabbed him so he would not hit rocks on the bottom or be pulled out really far.
