There are multiple things that could be this step however in my opinion the argument Po has with Shifu is the closest to this step as it leaves both in mental distress in which they're both stuck in the unknown with this situation.

The road of Trials

The road of Trials is when both Po and Shifu have to adapt to the situation, Po is put through intense training and Shifu is having to rethink the way he trains others.

The Meeting with the goddess

It could be either when Oogway dies and then Shifu takes the "goddess" role when he gives Po the scroll, or it could be when he returns home and his father takes the role by teaching him an invaluable lesson. The main reason I say that is because Meeting with the goddess is the person who gives them the "boon" needed to win.

Woman as the Temptress

The hero meets a Temptress who means to divert the hero from their quest. In Kung Fu Panda this could be when Tigress tells Po to leave and says he doesn't belong there. This drives him to find the tree of wisdom.

Ordinary world

Po's ordinary world is the dumpling shop he and his father live in, He always found the "Furious 5" cool and dreamed of being apart of it. Maybe that dream could be reality sooner than he thought.

Allies, Trials, and Enemies

During his time training he's introduced to his allies in the Furious Five, his trials come in the shape of his training, and he is told his enemy is Tai Lung.

The supreme ordeal

This comes in the form of the battle against Tai Lung, during this ordeal he is able to win because of his own abilities and those gained through the "road of trials", near the end Po gets the scroll taken from him and Tai Lung is angered at learning its a blank, reflective paper.

Reward

Po was seen as a hero after completing the supreme ordeal, he was respected by the Furious Five, and he was offered to continue staying at the top of the mountain.

The road back

There was no road back as Po decided to say his goodbyes to his father for the time being and go up the mountain again, he never did return to his ordinary world but instead gained something else.

Resurrection
