QUESTION 1 : WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES IN FACEBOOK THAT HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED TO YOU THIS SEMESTER AND ARE THESE ACTIVITIES HAVE HELPED YOU IN IMPROVING YOUR ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS ?

There are many activities that was assigned to me during this semester.The first one is making sentence based on parts of speech.By doing this activity it helps me to improve my grammar skill as I have started to forget about my grammar since i left my secondary school.This activity helped me to differentiate between the nouns,adverb,adjective,conjunctions and pronouns.I am able to make a proper sentence with a proper use of grammar.

The second activity was practice on LIRA test.I choose to do about inspirational story by Michealle Kwan.This activity helps me in improving my listening skill and helps me to do a good conclusion based on that story.It also helps me to gain several motivation and inspired me.

The third activity was a role play video.I was asked to do a video with 5 minute duration.We were given a situation and was told to complete the role play based on it.In this role play I have advice my friend who are facing problem in managing her time between studies and work.This activity improved my speaking skill and I am able to motivate my friend, gives some ideas and opinion.Besides that this video helps me to be more confident in giving opinion and it improves my speaking skill.

The fourth activity was a video during my mid-semester break.I manage to do video based on the activities that I had during my break.I went a trip to Perlis and spent my precious time with my family in Penang.By posting this video,I am able to share my activites during the break to my classmates and increased my speaking skill.

Laslty, we had to do a video on promoting the famous and special food in Merbok,Kedah.It really helps me to speak and tell the uniqueness of that food.

Uploading video in facebook really helps me in improving my speaking skill and it increase my confidence.This is because I need to speak in English in front of my friend.I am able to communicate with my friend. . Language is “the infinite use of finite means.”.It is not important how fluently we speaks,but how well we tried to improve our speaking skill is the best part of it.

3.Describe your “Week Without Walls”(www) video project.How did the process of working on this video help you to become more independent learner?

This www video projects helps me to become an independent learner as it requires us to complete this without the help of the lecturer.I also learned to communicate with my group members.WWW video project educates me to speak well,and are able to get to know the famous food in Kedah.I believe that by during this www video project,it really helps not only me but every student to speak,explain and complete a task within a given time.

4.Are you satisfied with your performance in ELC 121 especially in speaking skill?

After all I am very satisfied with my performance in ELC 121.It educates me to improve my speaking skill and it helps me to expand my knowledge in various part regarding ELC.I will keep on improving and learn English in the future because it is really needed for us in order to communicate and speak with other people.

INSPIRATIONAL STORIES – BROKE ELISSON

Based on stories that I have listened,the moral lesson I have learnts are” no matter what sort of challenge we might face,we can always believe that, with hope, it can be conquered and, in the end, we will be stronger for it.”.This value is shown by Brooke Elisson.She is a very determine person.Despite of her physical limitation, she has overcome many challenges and excelled academically. After scoring 1510 out of a possible 1600 on the SAT and finally Brooke was accepted in Havard University.She sucessfully graduated magna cu laude.Now,Brooke travels around the country as a motivational speaker.This shows that Brooke is a determine person who keeps on hardworking no matter what happens.

She told that life is not always easy and sometimes life will never go smoothly.We should face every obtacles and challenges with full of determination,self confidence and never give up.Every obstacles and challenges that we face today will make u to become a better person later.It is our determination and persistence that will makes us a successful person.

In conclusion we shold keep our dreams alive and understand that in order to achieve anything it r requires hardwork,dedication,faith and full of determination.Whatever we do,do it with determination because we only have on life to live.

I am amazed by her word “ You have to be passionate about what you do”She explained that we should be passionate on whaterver we do as we only once and we have to give our heart and soul to dedicate ourselves.

Everybody has different situation and circumstances and there are time when thing didn’t go smoothly.Everybody make mistakes and we should learn from the mistakes and keep on moving.We should not worry whenever we fall down because we are the one that should pick up ourselves.She tells that if we want something you have to make the right decision in order to make the dreams come true.

In conclusion,life is short. We should make the best and be the person towards achieving our goals.There are people who dreams of possibilities and people who remain foucs on life reality.We should be the person who not only dreams,but turns the dream into reality.💪
