What is freedom of speech?

The force or right to state one's viewpoints without restriction, limitation, or legitimate punishment is the importance of freedom of speech.

America is a very good example of the positives and negatives of freedom of speech. Freedom of speech is the first amendment from the total of 23. According to Brittanica, the first amendment is “ Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of governances.” When it comes to talk about pro-communism, antiwar etc. the government can not act. It is the citizens first amendment right to speak about whatever they take interest in. Even so, when under the oath, they can not lie. Because of the freedom of speech, many rivalries have started. Between races, political parties and even more. 

To conclude, we believe that freedom of speech is bad and that it should be limited. This is because False information can be propagated through freedom of speech. The development of the Internet has made it easier for people to share misleading information and outright lies while pretending that the information is genuine.

Socializing or engaging with people has always been important in our daily lives and the freedom to join a group is one of our rights too. Freedom of Association is a person's right to voluntarily leave or join a group, which means that the government can't let people from meeting together to create a group. These associations can be either voluntary (like friendship) or non- voluntary. Many countries have also restricted these terms being used which is one of the examples for non-voluntary association.

Saudi Arabia is a very strict country. They don’t allow tourists in most parts of the country. In many parts of the country, they don’t allow freedom for people or practising any other religion other than Islam.

Ensuring that workers and employers have a voice is an integral part for the ILO.The right to freedom of association is important to any society. It is a right in enabling citizens to monitor the human rights situation in a country and to support the human rights policies.

“Everyone has the right of freedom of peaceful assembly and association.” Article 23, paragraph 4, also states that “Everyone has the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of his interests.” The same principle is echoed in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
