I am Kelly Pedrick, and I taught freshman composition courses at UNLV, and a few other colleges, for ten years before deciding to transition to high school. I stayed with college, too, but I am now finishing my second full year of teaching 11th grade English and AP Lang at Valley High School. I love teaching with technology, and I use it in my classroom everyday, from journals and assignments that are submitted on Canvas to group work completed on a Google Doc and our online textbook, SpringBoard Digital, with all of its included activities.  I am hoping to learn some more background and share with my colleagues, who are a little fearsome of technology in the classroom.  My room has a full set of Chromebooks for the students, so technology is a great resource to enhance the students' learning.

This year, adding to my other subjects, I will be teaching IB World Literature to seniors, and I hope to become more involved in the IB program at my school in the future. 

I am looking forward to meeting and working with all of you!

I really enjoy working at CSN, I help students register and with any other issues they come across. When I first started college, I had no idea what I wanted to do, but after working at CSN I realized I wanted to keep helping students. I want to be a school counselor. I am majoring in Psychology and minoring in Education. I have always loved education and I want to someday teach as well. I look very excited to this class and I look forward to meeting you all.

My name is Janet Jarchow. I work at Sandy Searles Miller Magnet school as the resource aide.  I am going into my last semester of elementary teacher program next fall. I have two children 14-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter.  I love the classroom when it is full of students learning new ideas.   I can’t wait to have my own classroom, I prefer 1st or 2nd grade but enjoy all students.  I have lived in Las Vegas for 20 years now… WOW… does that make me a native?? Probably not because I choose not to gamble.  I grew up in Evanston near Chicago with my mother.  I have three cats and love make crafts.

My name is Sadie and I currently manage a small business dance retail store here in Henderson and have been working there for five years. With my current position I am very grateful to have the freedom and my pay, but I am currently feeling “burnt-out” and look forward to working somewhere else with room for growth. I also teach dance as well at a studio nearby and I truly enjoy being a dance teacher. With my future career I do not have any exact plans, but I hope to be successful and enjoy what I do like I do now.

I am  finally a last year senior, finishing my Environmental and Resource Science degree at Nevada State. I received my Associates of Science in general studies from CSN two years ago after a long rollercoaster. 
      Since, I am an avid outdoors lover I found a career path I love! My job is at the Nevada Department of Wildlife as a Volunteer Coordinator and Assistant Angler Educator. I love my job for so many reason including getting city kids outdoors. I love seeing the little faces when they see a migratory bird or the big smile when they catch their first fish. I am excited to implement more technology into Outdoor Education as a way for people to find our events and opportunities.
