         <description><![CDATA[<div>Dikembe Mutombo was born on June 25, 1966, in Leopoldville, democratic Republic of the Congo. Dikembe was one of 12 sons and daughters of Samuel and Biamba Mutombo. Dikembe is very bilingual and speaks many languages such as English, French, Spanish, Portugese, and 5 central African varieties. He moved to the U.S. in 1987 when he was 21 to go to college. <br>(picture is Dikembes hometown)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Dikembe went to Georgetown University. He originally went to college to become a doctor but changed his mind when the Georgetown Hoyas basketball coach, John Thompson, wanted to pick him up on the basketball team. When Dikembe first arrived at Georgetown, he spoke little to no English. In his first year of College basketball as a sophmore he blocked 12 shots in on game!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Dikembe was a top choice in the 1991 NBA draft, the Denver Nuggets drafted Dikembe as the 4th overall pick. During the time of the draft the Nuggets were ranked last for defensive rating. Mutombo had been making himself known as the NBA's best defensive player.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Dikembe had played for 6 NBA teams in his basketball career. He was nicknamed "Mt. Mutombo." Mutombo's combination of height, power, and very long arms led to him winning 4 NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards. In Dikembe's career he averaged 2.8 blocks and 10.3 rebounds per game, he is also the second all-time player with the most registered blocks.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1994 Dikembe married Michelle Roberts but the wedding was cancelled when Michelle didnt sign a prenuptial agreement the day before the wedding. Dikembe's brother, IIo, played basketball for the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles. The brothers had to play aginst eachother in a 1990 game at the Capital Centre. Dikembe was awarded an honarary Doctor of Humane Letters by the State University of New York College at Cortland.</div>]]></description>
