If they fail one exam, they must retake both.

Middlesborough run the 2 year course as follows:

1st year = All 8 core units with 2 exams and the Employer Set Project.

2nd Year = Occupational Specialism

Employer Set Project was taught as a separate lesson

Occ Spec requires Back End and Front End dev.

Industry placement can be broad. Middlesborough have placements in social media companies.

When it's a K, they just need to understand it. When it's a P, they need to be able to do it.

Occ Spec teaching starts in Year 2 and finished in Feb. They are then taking the project exam. I assume it's like the Applied General, but need to clarify.

Placement start from April of the 1st year. Wardley mapping = value decision making on whether or not to buy a product/service or build it or customise it.

Design your tests first.

Recommended languages
Python, Java, Javascript, Node, React, HTML, CSS

Need to understand platform services like AWS.

They prefer co-location offices. They want white boards and places to stick up notes.

As part of Middlesborough's Personal Development sessions, they were asked to design a Social Action Project.

Core Exams are hand written.

Retakes:

They did a 10 minute entry activity on revising the core exam knowledge.

They used Coded feedback to speed up marking. And to keep them on track. Heavy on tracking. They felt it was necessary to track closely to ensure grades improved. They saw a marked improvement from Christmas mocks to April outcomes.
