Google Sketchup is a program that uses CAD. Some careers that could use CAD are architects, animators, and manufacturers. Architects and manufacturers could use CAD to create and prototype designs of a building or product very efficiently, without using any physical resources, and create anytime and anywhere. Animating is pretty self-explanatory, as many tv shows and movies are 3d nowadays, and the use of good CGI and special effects are much easier to create and use effectively. My expectations for the Google Sketchup unit were pretty mid, but I found the unit pretty fun. The most challenging (yet my favorite) part of the unit was making a scale model of the Empire State Building. The hardest part of this assignment for me was probably designing the car itself, as we wanted to make it look good, but also perform well. My favorite part of the unit was painting the car.
