It runs on the lines of being modern psychedelic with its dreamy lyrics and use of effects.

It main hooks right from the start are the bass line that comes in really strong which had an effect of catching people’s minds straightway than the guitar riff appears which carries throughout the vocal breaks.

The melody line of the vocals is also catching and sounds really smooth and effortless and staying between only a couple of note this might be so it’s easy for the audience to sing or it may be a way of portraying its laid back vibes.

It does, however, flick to high register but staying around a couple of high notes before going back to head voice.

The drumbeat stays the same pretty much through the song connecting it all together 

It repeats a lot in terms of the guitar rift which dies down when the vocals start so that they don’t clash.

The chimes create a distant innocent sound so the song and only appear in the chorus and breaks.

The structure of the song is verse-chorus outro with the outro being quite repetitive and long.in term of the lyrics follow a rhyming scheme maying the lyrics flow better they also create vivid imagery by creating a story which helps create an image in the listener’s head.

You can tell that effects such as distortion hands been used on the guitar and a lot of reverb and delay on the vocals to give it a dreamy feel. The vocals are not that forward in the mix compared to some song this has the effect of them just blending in more with the guitar being quite forward.

They finally take the influence of early phyletic rock with the use of pedals and effects.

I will be comparing  Pink at the Grammy Awards compared to Sam Fender’s performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Firstly they’re both full of energy and captivating but in two different ways.

Pink performance is a show full of dancing, acting, and high energy dancing which tells the story of her song. Using special effects such as rain, fire, lighting. Shes also performs with other dancers to create more passion and dynamics. She doesn’t play an instrument on stage, unlike sam which gives her morefreeden to express herself through dance.

Sams expression comes from his facial expressions portraying passion through his tort face and powerful vocals. He uses his guitar as a way of moving to have the strap lose to he can have it in front of him and lift it up and to the side whilst playing. This is a good technique as it adds even more passion for the song.

Pink production is big which is the usual case for pop songs as its the whole package of entertainment. She has a lot of energy throughout the performance which helps energize the audience and get them to join in. The use of dynamics in the performance is highlighted by less movement and blue lighting which resembles an air of calm, as well as the choir which, resemble a restful church feel.

Sams lighting is blue throughout as its more of a softer meaningful song and performance.

He steps away from them at times to help make up the fact he’s playing guitar and carmt really move. He interacts with the other musicians by giving them eye contact and he moves back at the same time as his bass player which shows they are well practiced and in synch.

The audience are clapping to the music which shows Sam doesn’t have to do much to get the audience interacting this may because his songs have a strong beat that is easy to clap to.

He does a lot of wide mouth shout yell calls which helps him express his feelings and passion whilst PINK is clean and well-rehearsed you can tell that sam just reacts to how he’s feeling at the time.
