From my perspective, Nat Turner was a hero. If there was no rebellion, and nothing to scare the enslavers no change would have been made, as the white people saw slavery as completely okay. It could also be looked at from the other perspective, where he is a terrorist, but he sacrificed himself to make change, and if killing the men was what it took for people to begin to realize, then I think it is justified.

In my opinion, Nat Turner was both a hero and a terrorist. Turner was a slave with abnormally, at the time due to him being in slavery, high intelligence who was obviously against slavery and wanted emancipation. He wanted an end to slavery so much that he risked his own life to start a slave rebellion, which resulted in the death of many of the slave rebels as well as many white men, women, and children of whom they were rebelling against. I consider him a hero because he risked his own life to try to fight against the system of slavery. He saw injustice and gathered others to fight for the cause of stopping slavery. His rebellion was for the right cause, but what he, and others, did in the rebellion was wrong. I also view Turner as a terrorist because he and his rebels slaughtered many innocent people, such as the children of the slave owners. Unlike a lot of the adults during the rebellion, the children weren’t dangerous to the rebels. Therefore, there was no reason for the rebels to kill the children as they were not armed nor did they join in resisting the rebellion, but they got killed anyway. So, I believe that Nat Turner was both a hero and a terrorist because he fought for the right cause, but did so through killing many innocent people.

Nat Turner was a terrorist because his way of being someone who made a difference was horribly wrong, he helped slaves escape, but he manipulated them into getting revenge, he killed children. It didn't have to lead that.

I feel as if Nat Turner, just like anybody else on this earth, had a good and bad remark depending on who you are. Turner wanted to end slavery to the point that he risked his own life, which resulted in the death of many slaves. He saw injustice and took action. At the same time, innocent people, especially children, were unnecessary. I believe he did what he had to do, but in the process, people were harmed.
