Me being the type of person I am I had immediately rushed over to the new kid and asked him if he wanted to be friends. He was from a foreign country, but that was okay since he spoke enough English for me to be able to understand him. We had become the best of friends over time. We would be together all the time that we could. After about 2 years his family had decided to move back to the Philippines. 

How does this relate to the theme?

One of the most memorable friendships I had developed is with this person from Canada. We had both been friends with a lot of the same people so we met through them. At first it was kind of awkward, but after a couple of weeks we had started talking more and more.  We both share a lot in common including wanting to pursuit a career in writing.

She lives in Michigan which isn't as far as my other friends, but it's still pretty far. She has already graduated which is pretty awesome because she always offers to help me with anything. We talk all the time even though she's 3 hours ahead. We both like to talk about how different our states are. Like how in Arizona the highs are above 100 degrees but in Michigan the highs are in the 80s.
