Once upon a time, in a kingdom far, far away, there was a fairy named Stardust. She was the guardian of Cinderella, watching over her with twinkling eyes and a heart full of magic. With her shimmering wings, Stardust would flutter around Cinderella, granting her wishes and weaving dreams into reality. Whenever Cinderella faced adversity, Stardust would sprinkle her with courage and resilience, ensuring that she never lost hope. Together, they danced through the trials and triumphs of Cinderella's journey, spreading joy and enchantment wherever they went. And as Cinderella found her happily ever after, Stardust remained by her side, a timeless reminder that even the darkest of nights can be illuminated by a sprinkle of fairy dust.

These are some of the fairy tales I know:

Little Red Riding Hood: It tells the story of a girl who encounters a wolf on her way to visit her grandmother. The wolf disguises himself as the grandmother and tries to deceive Little Red Riding Hood.

Hansel and Gretel: It tells the story of two siblings who get lost in the forest and reach a witch's candy house, and their adventure to escape from there.

Fairy tales are an important part of culture because they give us information about the lifestyle, traditions, and customs of that region. Especially medieval fairy tales reflect this influence clearly.

In our Turkish culture, we have Keloğlan Tales: Keloğlan is a naive but clever, bald young man. Keloğlan tales are stories of his various adventures where he uses his intelligence and cunning.

Fairy tales are generally short stories for children and feature magical creatures, people and places. Like other types of stories, fairy tales contain a beginning, middle and end, heroes and antagonists, some form of conflict and resolution. However, fairy tales have magical elements, such as spoken animals or objects, and a magical setting, such as a kingdom or a forest, with their help. Fairy tales usually begin with the saying "Once upon a time" and end with a happy ending. Good characters always win over bad characters, there are lessons taught, and there is always the promise of happily ever after. Fairy tales differ from fantasy fiction in that their magical perspective is not an explicit part of the story but assumes that things are just the way they are.

Fairy Tale Examples

Beauty and the Beast

Cinderella

The Frog Prince

Hansel and Gretel

Little Red Riding Hood

Puss in Boots

Rapunzel

Sleeping Beauty

Snow White and the Seven

Fairy tale or fairy tale is essentially a product of oral anonymous folk literature, a type of narrative in which extraordinary people or creatures may be among the heroes, the events described are completely unreal, and the place and time elements are always uncertain. The most important feature that distinguishes fairy tales from genres such as short stories and epics is that they contain unrealistic elements and do not attempt to make what is told seem like reality. In fairy tales, events take place at an unknown time. In Turkish, since the most appropriate tense for the unknown past tense is the learned past tense, all fairy tales are generally told in this tense, the past tense seen is never used, but sometimes the present tense or aorist tense is used. Although the term fairy tale primarily covers folk tales that are products of national and international oral tradition, such as Cinderella, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, and Keloğlan, works that are not products of oral tradition, that is, whose author is known but written in the style of fairy tales, are also included in this genre. Fairy tales are usually told by "story mothers" to groups ready to listen, and these tales are then transcribed by compilers.
