Hello, My name is Angela Campos, and I am completing this Padlet to explain how I personally have met all of the learning outcomes listed for this course and to reflect on everything that I have learned this semester in this course.

Reflect on Authorship

#1: I ended up using a chart in WP#3 that I feel helped my writing project a lot by clarifying and displaying a lot of data in one clear concise way. Using the chart was a lot easier to understand my point in my writing than just writing out all the data.

#2: Culture, identity and power plays have a HUGE role in all writing and publications I feel. If it doesn't it would be a very "dry" publication. For example the Navy ad was very powerful, because thru identity and power play the Navy was able to clearly show what audience they were speaking to and how the Navy could potentially change their life. This was a way more impactful way to get the point across instead of just saying "Hey we want African Americans to enroll in the Navy!"

Reflect on Writing Process

#1: I feel like in both Peer reviews some of my fellow classmates peer review for me was not useful. They were very positive to tell me how great my rough drafts were but I felt like I did not get a lot of feedback on how to change or make my essay better. i think that if we all followed the NOTE, REACT, ASK instructions I would have gotten more meaningful feedback that I could have implemented in a better way.

#2: I learned so much about peer feedback! I absolutely loved the whole process. In my past experience I have never felt like the peer review process was effective or impactful in a positive way. Thru learning about the NOTE, REACT, ASK technique, I fell like I will use this not only on future writings in my life but also teach my sons how to use this in their future assignments so they can be stringer writers.

Reflect on Critical Thinking and Reading

#1: To be honest the old strategies I brought with me from previous learning experience were of no use to me in this course. I had to rewire my brain when thinking about thesis statements and organization on essay as a whole. For example I was always taught that an essay should be mainly 5 paragraphs long with an intro, 3 details paragraphs and a closing paragraph. It was really interesting to learn that an essay can be multiple points and many many pages long. I know that I should have learned that or at least put that together in my life but I didn't. When you are not taught something it is hard to come to a new conclusions by yourself. I added so many other new strategies that I will use in my future writings. For example: annotated bibliographies, outlines and peer reviews.

#2: The research process was an extremely hard aspect for me to work through. I was very overwhelmed by the entire process, especially the scholarly sources. I spent countless hours reading wrong sources and searching in the wrong places for credible sources. Meeting with the librarian was a HIGE help to me in this process. I do wish I did this right after told about that requirement. It would have made the research process way better and easier.

Reflect on Information Literacy

#1: I used a lot of evidence to get my points and ideas across in my writings. For example I used many case studies as examples on how male and female nurses feel about "hot" topics going on in the industry right now. I also was able to figure out what was credible forms of evidence by using the CRAAP test. if the evidence or source passed that test I felt like it was appropriate and good to use in my writings. I used the APA formatting since this was the required format in this course for all of our assignments.

#2: The main issue that I had with crediting sources was making sure that I did not plagiarize anyone else's words or thought and remember to use in text citations at any point. I used Purdue Owl a long thru this course and it helped in many ways. I also asked Professor Emily anytime I felt like Purdue Owl did not a clear answer for me to follow.

Reflect on Rhetorical Knowledge

#1: The main thing I learned in this class is that I am not bad at writing like previous teachers in my past told me I was. I am not afraid of writing assignments moving forward whether that is in my future classes or at work. I am actually excited abut this new outlook. It use to scare me and I would break out in a cold sweat when I needed to write anything in my life. But now I fell like I can conquer the world.

#2: In WP#1 I really focused on my target audience and my moment in history in this essay. I wanted to focus on why I choose the career that I chose and why other nurses and people interested in nursing should or could choose to be a CRNA as well. I wanted to focus on my life and how I was going to change my family's life as well by going into this field/specialty. This essay would have been completely different if it was written by a person who did not have a family (children). My tone really focused on being a parents and having this career, if someone who does not have children wrote this essay, they would have focused on another aspect of the career. It would haver had a completely different tonality and way different criteria. The essay would have focused on what aspect was most important to that author.
