What i first did was distribute 2 to 3x and -4.Which gets me 6x-8=4.Than i did a two-step equation.Than i added 8 because the inverse of -8 is +8,I did this to get the x by its self.So i added 8 to both sides and got 6x=12.Next i did 6 dived by 12 because when a number(6) and a variable(x) are touching it means to multiply and i did the inverse of multiplication which is division. And got x=2 as my answer.

Kaylei Brown First you have to multiply 2 and 3x to get 6x, then you multiply 2 and -4 to get -8. Now your equation should be 6x-8=4. Now you have to get the number that doesent have the variable which would be -8. You do the inverse of -8 which would be 8 because inverse means opposite. Once u get 8 u have to add it to 4 and get 12. Next you bring down 6x so the equation is now 6x=12. From here you divide 12 by 6 because when a number is tuching a variable it means multiply so the inverse of multiply would be to divide. Since u have divided 12 by 6 your answer should be x=2.

After that you have to bring down those numbers and the answer to make a problem of 6x -8 =4 and then solve for x and to do that you have to do the inverse of -8 wich is positive 8 and you get zero so that cancels out to only 6x left on that side and whatever you do to one side you do to the other so add eight to 4 and get 12 and since u still have 6x you have to do the inverse of multiplication wich is division so that cancels out to be 1x wich is just x and since whatever is done to one side you have to do to the other that number 12 has to be divided by 6 to get 2 so x =2

Next you need to draw a line through the equal sine and draw a vertical line from 6x to 4 below the line. Now you need to find the constant , which is 8. Now you need to change -8 into 8 and add -8 +8 this will make a zero pair. After this you will do the American to 4 and get 12. Final bring down 6x. For the final part you need to divide 12\6 and 6x/6 doing this you will get x=2 which is the answer.

To solve 2(3x -4) = 4, you have to distribute the numbers in the parentheses. You have to multiply the 2 and both numbers inside the parentheses individually. If you do so, you would get, 6x -8 = 4. That was step one. Now, you draw a line down the equal sign and try to find the constant and do the opposite inverse or, the opposite operation of that number. The constant found is the negative 8 or the number below the number zero. You do the opposite operation of negative 8 which is positive 8, or the number above the number zero, and make a zero pair. What you did to the constant, you have to do to the number that it equals to to. So, you add eight to the positive four. You'll positive twelve. We are left with the variable 6x. A variable is a letter or an unidentified number. Looking at it, we are left with a one step equation, 6x = 12. This is the final step. The six and the variable are touching eachother so that means it's a

Now you cancel out the constant which is -8 then make it positive 8 because of inverse operation. Take out the -8 & 8 because it's a zero pair. Now on the other side of the equal sign you now have the other positive 8. You will then add them together because they're both positive integers. You will bring down the 6x and make it another equation and put a line through the equal sign again. 6x=12 you will now bring down the 6 on both sides of the equal sign. You will then cross off the two 6's because of them being zero pairs. Now the 6 on the other side of the equal sign you will divide the numbers because it's inverse operation. You then bring down the x and the answer is 2. X=2

After I bring down the =4 so now our problem would now be 6x-8=4. Now I draw a line through the equal sign and change -8 into its inverse which is positive 8. Inverse means the opposite operation. -8 and +8 will cancel out and 4+8 is 12. Then, I bring down the 6x so our problem is now 6x=12 when the variable is next to a number it means multiply but since we have to do the inverse we would have to divide. 6x divided by 6 would cancel out to zero. When we look at 12 divided by 6 it would equal 2. Our answer to x will now be 2 🙂

Now you draw an line through your equal sign. You do the inverse of -8 which is +8 to the =4 also . An inverse means the opposite operation. Your 8's will become a zero pair which means that the answer will result in an 0. Next you add the 4+8 and get 12. Now you are left with 6x=12. Now you see that the 6 and x are close together with means multiply but you must do the inverse which is divide. So 12 divided by 6 is 2 which will be your final answer to your problem.

To solve 2(3x-4)= 4 you must distribute. When you distribute, you just multiply the number outside the parenthesis with the two or more numbers inside the parenthesis. So, in this case, you would multiply 2 and 3x, which would give you 6x (the variable (number) will stay with the answer you got when you multiplied). After that, you multiply 2 and -4, which would give you -8. The answer to 2 times -4 is -8 and not positive 8 because the equation had one positive and one negative, and when you have one positive and one negative, your answer is automatically negative. By now, you should have 6x-8=4. Now, you draw a line through the "=" sign and change the -8 to a positive 8 because it's the only constant (number without a variable) left apart from the 4. When you change a number on one side, you must do the same on the other side, so bring the +8 on the left and put it on the right as well. Put a line through -8 +8, because it's an additive inverse, or two numbers whose sum is zero. Now, you do 4+8, which will give you 12, because there's already one negative and one positive. Now bring down the 6x. By now, you should have 6x=12. Since you did the inverse (opposite) operation for -8, you will do the same for 6x. According to PEMDAS, the opposite of multiplication is division, so you divide both sides by 6. 12 divided by 6 is 2, Therefore making your answer x=2.
