During II World War it was used as a Nazi office.

 

Above the entrance there is an inscription “Wiedza to potęga” (Knowledge is power) by a British philosopher Francis Bacon.

 

Our students major in:

- languages - English, German and Spanish

- human studies - Polish, history and citizenship

- maths studies - maths, physics and IT

- medical studies - biology and chemistry

 

Our school was
named after Kazimierz Jagiellończyk, a Polish king, in 1968. 

 

Our school is nicknamed “Jagiellończyk” or shortly - “Jagiellon”.  

 

The front of the building is in the neoclassical style.

 
The outer walls are pink and white. 

 
Currently, there are about 600 students in our school

There's a river running through the city - Warta - with a Bridge of Lovers over it and a bunch

of padlocks on its railings. 

There are a lot of meaningful places in Sieradz, for example, the

Castle Hill, the Old Town, Sieradz Cultural Center (Performing arts theatre) or the Public

Square of Józef Piłsudski.

About 42 thousand people live in Sieradz.

In the 19th century a famous hairdresser was born in our town. His name was Antoni Cierplikowski and he got really famous after he opened the salon Antoine de Paris in Paris and became known as Monsieur Antoine. He invented and patented the boy hairstyle for women. He was the hairdresser of Josephine Baker, Brigitte Bardot, Edith Piaf. 
He spent most of his life in Paris, France, but in his old age he returned to his native Sieradz.

In Poland we pay in zloty, although we belong to the EU. 

The President of Poland is Andrzej Duda.
