1. Which types of mentor texts did you engage with this week? Which one was the most interesting to you? 

The first chapter of "Brave New World" showed a society in which people are formed and conditioned into specific roles, which made it interesting. This futuristic vision of great caution asks serious discussion of the course of current society and technical advancements.

2. How did this text challenge or expand your understanding of the future? 

My old understanding of the future was challenged by Aldous Huxley's depiction of a controlled society where free will is crushed for the benefit of social stability. It expanded my viewpoint by demonstrating the possible misuse of technology advancement and the problems that come when human nature is manipulated, and individuality is denied.

3. Did this text raise any questions, excitement, or uncertainties about the future? If so, what are they? 

After reading this chapter, I have a lot of questions about what comes ahead. It made me wonder about the morals of genetic engineering and the changing of human mind for the good of society. It also caused concern over a possible loss of freedom in the face of modern things meant to predict and control human behaviour. This is balanced by interest in the possible uses of these technologies in the right hands.

I concentrated on a mentor text on podcasts. Because of its unique combination of environmental problems and a futuristic setting.

2. How did this text challenge or expand your understanding of the future? 

By demonstrating how human activity may affect alien environments, the video "is anybody out there?" expanded our knowledge and forced us to think about moral issues and realistic colonisation strategies.

3. Did this text raise any questions, excitement, or uncertainties about the future? If so, what are they? 

Issues concerning the viability of finding Earth-like ecosystems on other worlds were brought up in the podcast. It also raises questions about how they will affect Earth species if alien habitats make contact with us in the long run. These topics are beyond the boundaries of the present environmental discussions, they are both exciting and scary.

I did speeches. The repeated usage of "Yes We Can" is noteworthy because it not only brings listeners together around a common goal but also teaches a motivational and unforgettable message that improves optimism and the potential for group success.

2. How did this text challenge or expand your understanding of the future? 

Obama's speech inspires people to believe that they can shape the future by working together and being committed. It encourages a feeling of empowerment by saying that engaged democracy can mould a better future.

3. Did this text raise any questions, excitement, or uncertainties about the future? If so, what are they? 

The speech raises hopes for the future of peace and determination, but it also raises concerns about how to carry out of these goals. The listeners may have doubts about their ability to overcome the next obstacles in real life. The atmosphere is positive even with these doubts, encouraging shared belief that improved futures may be achieved through cooperation and resilience.

This week's mentor text is a nonfiction that explores studies of generational fights, particularly how elder generations see younger generations. The article clarifies the long standing, belief that "kids these days" spans all communities. It is based on scientific research and psychological theories.

2. How did this text challenge or expand your understanding of the future? 

The investigation of memory biases, such as "forward thinking," and its role in the generational criticism of younger generations by older ones is the highlight of this text. This realisation is especially exciting since it provides a better understanding of why these generational conflicts exist in despite developments and changes in societal settings.

3. Did this text raise any questions, excitement, or uncertainties about the future? If so, what are they? 

The text challenges us to think differently about generational conflict by showing us that it might be based on how we remember things, not just cultural differences. This expands our understanding by suggesting that if we can be aware of and manage these biases, we might improve how different generations work together and address big issues in the future.

   "The Lottery" by Shirely Jackson. This was a very interesting short story and involved a lot of twists.

   It shows the danger of following a tradition without questioning it. The story shows how a town's ritual is accepted as normal because it's traditional.

   The book raises questions about the future, particularly whether society will continue to accept harmful traditions just because they are long, and if people will choose to question or change these practices.
