They will have to use "talk moves" to guide their discussion. These conversation starters include "I agree with ____ because" I disagree with ____ because" I want to piggy back off of ____ because." I will have these prompts printed and cut out and each round students will draw for their conversation prompt. All had pictures and resume bullets which were true but in some cases not in a good way: for example the "Black Widow" bio included "Bilingual and Well traveled". This allowed them to think about what is real or possibly deceptive on the internet which I think helped start off the year with a healthy mindset and continued reminders. They also learned not to judge by the cover or by first impression and to check all the sources.
