Sometimes I am more heavily influenced by non learning phases with presumptions, non consideration, and rejection, to learning situations or opportunities that are new to me. When I am uncomfortable, unsure, or severely anxious I find myself more in phase 1 of non learning.

In my experience, the importance of incorporating the individual’s context into the learning process is essential. It is important that instruction is facilitated in a way that prompts learners to identify how they connect with the content they are learning, while also encouraging them to consider how other individuals in their contexts that don’t share the same experiences as them may connect with the content.

For me in order for new experiences or new material to be remembered or keep me engaged is when it ties to prior experiences for me to relate with and pull from those experiences to help build stronger connections.

Situation experiences are the ones I will remember the most and be able to recall faster or make more applications to. Such as with doing any body movements or consistent verbal cues.

Sports or learning a new physical activity/body movement heavily relies on practical experience and muscle memory or muscular adaptation. Could also relate to musical instruments and arts and crafts.

My learning relies heavily on memorization, so for that reason the non-reflective route really stuck out to me and made me reflect on the other two in that section and if they can be beneficial to me. I will be looking into those more deeply in the future!

I think that reflective practice is an important part of my learning experiences. I often find myself thinking about my prior learning experiences and evaluating how they connect to my current professional experiences.

My first teaching job was unexpected as it was a job-embedded teaching position. This fast-learning experience really had me reflecting a lot on what I wanted my teaching career to look like. I had to think fast and react appropriately. I now look back on that year and reflect on ways that I could have changed my practice to make a better learning environment.

In my current job, when facing challenges with students (specifically, helping them navigate interpersonal conflict) my previous experiences as a student in leadership roles is what I find most helpful in relating to them and providing successful guidance.

shadowing or training for my current job. especially because when I started, I was one-on-one with kids, so having that initial time to see how things were done before I was left on my own was beneficial.

The connectivity and continuity of prior experiences to my new experiences are very prevalent within my learning. I agree that prior experiences help me to understand new experiences. When I started my new job, I found it easy to learn new tasks when I have learned/experienced them in a previous job.

In my experience, I have always used the phrase "meet the student where they're at." Engaging with diverse backgrounds can help enrich and engage learners with various backgrounds.

I think a lot of the success of this model depends a lot not just on the integrity of the instructor but also the integrity of the learner and mentors. I had very different experiences in my two placements as a student teacher due to the engagement and involvement of my mentor teachers. My experience working with an engaged and supportive mentor teacher was a much more valuable learning experience than the experience with a teacher just doing it because she had to.

I think there is a lot of value in evaluating and challenging other perspectives, especially those that don't follow norms. Those types of activities encourage deeper learning and understanding.
