The lack of resources and quality medical care makes life difficult for Indigenous people. Additionally, Indigenous women face extreme sexual violence. Since she has a disability, Deerinwater needs to have access to medicines and procedures- a lot of the discrimination she faces is under medical care. All of these hardships from her different identifiers add up, making her experience even more painful.

we dont talk about bodily autonomy for indigenous women regarding their reproductive right, but its talked about in a more general sense that relates more to the white woman in america
Americans don't know much about the lives of indigenous people so they are more prone to ask questions without regard to the effects or persons feelings
