This letter pertains to your child's transition meeting for the upcoming school year, as he/she enters grade 9. Starting in a new school can pose many challenges for a new student so we would like to take this opportunity to get to know your child as best we can prior to the school year starting. We would also like to take the time to answer any of your questions you may have regarding your child's time in our school, as well as any questions your child may have.

Meeting Objectives 
- Meet your child and discuss strengths and needs
- Review/complete course selection for next year and review streaming 
- Discuss SEA equipment if applicable 
- Discuss what transition to high school will look like 
- Answer any questions/concerns you/child may have

- discuss SEA equipment transfer (if necessary)
- gains information from student on likes/interests/hobbies - discusses different clubs/teams etc. that are available which may interest student
- discuss with student and parent/guardian the Reaching Ahead course available in the summer (gain a course/credit before starting school that better prepares student for high school)
