         <description><![CDATA[<div>During the mid 1800s, several other reform movements were also taking place, some of these ranging from abolition of slavery, education reform, prison reform, women's rights, to the temperance movement.</div><div><br>Although there's no particular tie-in between any of these movements and the prison reform movement, you could still say that the compassion and enthusiasm which sprang from many of these is what allowed Dorethea Dix to make her case and be heard in state courts.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>During the 10800's there were several movements and reforms taking place for example worker rights, abolition, women's rights, education, the temperance, and of course this one the prison reform I see these events tying together by everyone wanting something better for society or wanting something better or fair for another group of people like women, slaves, worker's, and the mentally ill.</div>]]></description>
