She went to school graduated high school at the age of 14 and graduated college at the age of 18. For the next several years she was caring for her children and was a school teacher. In 1953 her children had got older and she started to work for NACA she stood out to be a computer John glenn wanted Katherine to do all of the calculations for his mission and she did.
