The pharaoh was considered to be a god sent to the earth to maintain order in the universe. Because of the pharaoh's importance, after their death, pharaohs like King Tut were given elaborate burials to ensure the well-being of their spirits on the journey back to the gods. Many pharaohs were buried along with priests and other people who served beside them in large pyramids they had built for them. Through the process of mummification, the Egyptians learned about the human anatomy which allowed the Egyptians to become doctors.

The bronze Khopesh was used by the military for defending villages.
The military was funded by the government. When necessary, the local militia units were backed up by a small standing army of professional soldiers. These soldiers dealt with nomadic groups who came from eastern and western deserts, or Libyans from the northwest. They posed no danger, and were rather a nuisance.
The military was not often used due to the isolationist nature of Egypt.
