One experience I’ve had with this type of learning was in high school playing rugby. Rugby is a similar sport to football but without the gear and way more contact. During my very first rugby practice, I wasn’t that great at catching the ball but I was very observant in order to be great. By the fourth or fifth practice I had a stern posture while running and had my hands ready. My coach only said the rules once but always told us that the sport is what you make of it.

Another experience I’ve had with this type of learning was rock climbing at Memphis Rox. When you are a beginner at rock climbing you tend to get stuck, fall down, or not make it to the top because of height. Well at least when I was a beginner that’s how I was until I started observing other rock climbers. Then I started making up my own ways of how I was gone to get to the top of the wall.

One of my experiences with this type of learning was playing Call of Duty. My goal with this game was to beat my brother's high score on the number of kills. At first, I couldn’t get at least three kills, so I got on the game every other day after school to better myself. After two months of consistency, I finally achieved my goal and had a tournament between my brother and I, for three hours and beat his high score.

Another experience I’ve had with this type of learning was preparing for the ACT, because our school goal was for our whole grade to get a good score. So we took a class in high school that was mandatory which focused mainly on what to do for the ACT and how to prepare for different types of questions. While also taking a practice test every two months to better prepare us.

One experience I’ve had with this type of learning was back in elementary school before they started to strip the meaning of learning away. One lesson was counting money where my teacher had set up her own personal grocery store in her classroom. Basically we started off with about 40 dollars and we had to learn how to spend our money wisely and how to make sure we were handed the right amount to the cashier and given back. It was a fun learning experience and I could connect it to real life scenarios.

I believe it could’ve been taught better or at least connected to real-life because the way I was taught has only prepared me for the next grade. I never understood why I needed to learn this outside of school.
