I plan to achieve my goals by prioritizing the more important tasks I have over the simple ones that can be done at a later date. I can also study for my tests in advance instead of only studying for them on the day before, like I can start reviewing for long tests 2-3 days before the day of the long test so that on the day before the long test I will only have to go over the material and practice a bit more.

These goals are important to me because they will reflect how I truly perform in class. They will also keep me on track to getting good grades that will aid me in getting into ASHS. Lastly it will keep me disciplined in respect to studying for math so that I can stay on track.

I plan to achieve these goals by the end of the term. I set this end date for me because by that time I hope to have understood and remembered all the topics and be able to review for the exam efficiently. I hope that I am able to achieve it by the end of the term so that I can reflect and see that I have made improvement and learned from my previous mistakes.

My Eureka moment for this term was during the Quiz#3 (Linear Functions). My misconception was the 2nd graph in the quiz and the questions were to find the slope, get the slope of a line perpendicular to it, and restrict the domain.

I learned my misconception when the quiz was returned and I someone in the class to explain to me why my answers were wrong and show me how to get the right answers. I was able to address this mistake of mine by practicing how to get the slope of a line better and get the slope of a line perpendicular to it better by practicing more of the cerebry exercises and by searching on youtube during study sessions how to do it.

The most challenging task for me this term were questions c, d, e in the last long test(LT#3 Quadratic functions and Models). This is because I wasnt able to fully understand the practice questions we were given during class discussions, although I was able to note the procedures and answers down, I wasnt able to understand how to solve it on my own. I could’ve solved the challenging task by asking help from my teacher, and doing more repetitions that I could find from textbook. I could’ve also asked the people smarter than me to explain the problem to me so that I’d be able to understand it from another person’s perspective. Had I done these things I most likely would’ve been able to comprehend and solve the problem with more ease.

This was the collaborative work that was given to us in the 1st term. The activity was cutting up a rectangular paper into smaller rectangles, that introduced us to inputs and outputs. My proof of work can be seen in the photo provided as I was the one who wrote the answers on paper, and my pair, Jack, was the one who cut the paper up into smaller pieces. He didnt quite understand the seatwork, as he kept overthinking of the seatwork that was given, when it was only a straightforward activity.

In my opinion my best work of the 1st term was the 2nd long test (Long Test #2: Linear Functions). I can say this because out of the 3 Long tests that were given this was the best score I had in the term. I think i scored the highest in the 2nd long test was because in the minor quizzes that we took before hand. In those minor quizzes, I had alot of careless mistakes that I didn’t notice I made and I thought that they were the right answer despite having reviewed my answers. Because of my scores and my careless mistakes I had in the minor quizzes motivated me and gave me another reason to study harder for this quiz and get a score that would give me a chance to improve my class standing, which was C+ at the time. Having talked about careless mistakes I also made a careless mistake in the long test which caused. e to get minus 1 point, had I reviewed my answers properly, I think I would’ve gotten a perfect score for that long test. Unfortunately, I was not able to find my LT#2 so I used a google classroom post instead, I couldn’t find my copy of the long test wherever I checked. So this was the best substitute I could use.
