I was the youngest of five, and growing up my mother always went to a baptist church. However, whenever she would come home, she would act so different. I didn't know what was going on. One Monday, she invited my brother who just arrived home from the army to church. I then asked if I could go as well simply because I wanted to watch what would happen. The service was amazing, and night after night she went and my brother and I kept going with her. I was 14. By the end of that week, my whole family was going, and we became true Christians. Whenever it was someone's birthday, they would get to choose what we did that day as a family. I always chose to go on bike rides at the park. At the end of the day, we would have cake that my mother hand made. My brother and sister had worked there before me, and they were such good workers that the boss asked me to work for her as well. I was 14 years old, though I was supposed to be 16. I was terrified on my first day because I was terrible at mathematics. Back then we had to do everything in our heads. I ended up loving it. One day, my boss told me that she did not want to be disturbed and that she would be upstairs in her office. Later that day, the inspector came and asked me to speak to my boss. I told him that I was sorry, but she was very busy and he cannot see her. I was terrified because I knew that she could hear me through the floor. The inspector pushed passed me and went up to her office. I thought that I was going to be fired because of this. To my surprise, she told me that she was proud of me for telling the truth. I chose this quote to best represent Loretta because through my conversations with her, she has told me incredibly wise things and given me great advice. She once told me that we waste so much time picking people apart and displaying hatred towards people when we don't even know their story. She told me that everyone is struggling with something and to never judge someone on their appearance or your first impressions of them. We are all God's children.
