         <description><![CDATA[<div>With her first acts of queen she established the English Protestant Church, for in her earlier years she had been imprisoned under the suspicion of supporting the Protestant rebels. By doing this, she was one of the first to make a difference to the protestant preserving the peace of the torn and bankrupt nation she inherited. The older she got, she became famous for her virginity because she did not marry and ran England alongside her trusty counsel instead of a husband. She became very influential to her citizens and was even admired by her enemies for she avoided systematic persecution.</div>]]></description>

One important event that took place in 1585 when Queen Elizabeth took the Netherlands under her protection, which started a war with Spain.  In 1570, Queen Elizabeth I was excommunicated from the church by Pope, Pius V because Catholics believed that Mary Queen of Scots was the true Queen although she had been forced to renounce her position on the throne after being imprisoned for fleeing Scotland and was later tried and executed for treason, the Pope had strongly disliked Queen Elizabeth because she had taken the place of the previous</div>]]></description>
