<title>Was really great to discuss language, history, and etymology around this topic at our DEI Chomp &amp; Chat today as well as our Day of Service yesterday! I look forward to continuing to practice mindfulness around this issue and continuing the conversation.</title>

<title>I was on a call with a partner organization and they asked why I kept saying &quot;all the people.&quot; It was a good opportunity for me to share that I am tying to be mindful of my use of gendered words. For the rest of the call I didn&#39;t hear anyone else use gendered words. </title>

<title>It made me realize that if I used gendered words on a day when I was hyper-aware of what I was saying, then I must be using gendered words on most other days even more frequently. Awareness of behavior is the first step to changing it!</title>

<title>This is something that I am trying to be more mindful of. I didn&#39;t realize how much I use terms that could referred to the male gender (i.e. guys). I&#39;m glad I was able to have the conversation with my teammates and will work to be more mindful about it. </title>

<title>I was surprised about how many times I use the term guys to address a room full of people. </title>
