Summary: A Young native man named Christopher Johnson McCandless who was only eighteen, maybe nineteenth the most was very determined(p.6) to start his new life in the wild. When a man named Jim Gallien spotted a hitchhiker four miles out of the fair bank who was Christopher. When Jim saw Christopher he was Shivering(p.3) in the gray Alaska dawn he asked where he was going and he said " as far as the edge of Denali national park. Jim can describe Christopher had an exciting spirit(p.6) that can not be broken(p.6). On Tuesday, April 28, 1992, Chris was dropped off at the head of the stampede trail. Jim had thought of stopping to tell Alaska state troopers about "Alex" just in case but he figured any normal(p.7) would just get hungry and find a trail to get help.

Analysis: i think it was good for him to leave but i wouldn't say it would be the best idea knowing he died in the end

Summary: it was a long , meandering(p.10) journey down to the stampede trail to get the Fairbanks bus 142. close to where Chris calls home for four months in the bush. on September 6, 1992, six Alaskans(p.10) as well followed that path and to the bus where they came upon SOS letters and a red signal flag created from a leg warmer. One of the men Gordon Samuel (p.10) searched the bus and discovers sleeping bags with the head of a deceased man. The next day the Alaska state troopers visit the vehicle and find Chris's remains as well as his belonging that contained many rolls of film, many self-portraits, and a journal with 113 entries with very explained detail of his last few days. they concluded he died on malnutrition and only weighed 67punds at the time of his dead and with no id or identifying information the mystery of who this young hiker is beginning.

Analysis: Seeing how people found his body is sad and mostly the fact that he was only last to weigh 67 pounds, really shows how much he was starving.

Summary: in this point of the journey things start to get tough. After pulling in the lake mead national relational area outside he finds himself in a strong thunderstorm that leaves him stranded with a car that won't start since the car got flooded. As much as he loved that car he decided to start his journey on foot. after this chapter, it mentions he got ripped off in northern California by a man named crazy Ernie and the hints keep coming. He gets hitchhiking ticked after escaping the situation and makes the mistake and reveals his real address to the cops and that causes his parents to know about his location. at this point you'd believe Chris would've give up like any normal person but no.

Analysis: It's nice to know he had a strong bond with Chris unlike how he did with his parents but i feel like maybe he ran and started a new life so fast

He encounter an old friend on Alex's Wayne Western berg in the little town on Carthage South Dakota. he learns that in the fall of 1990 Wayne mentions picking up Chris and both on a ride to Sacco Hot Springs. According to his well friend Wayne he was a very hardworking, clever person.Chris had claimed Carthage as his home. After Jon mentions Chris's rocky relationship with his parents, Walt and Billie

Analysis: i feel like no matter what your parents have like money and a good home that doesn't matter , its how they treat you so if his parents treated him bad he had a good reason to want to start a new life.

Summary: Jon Krakauer traveled to Carthage, South Dakota in November 1992 to meet Alexes friend Wayne and some of Wayne's family members. Alex mentioned him as a hard worker but yet would tell people he lacked common sense and how " he definitely wasn't what you'd call mechanically minded"(p.62). he also mentioned how Alex planed to "divorce" his parent and never speak to them (64). Alex would've been described as " the life of the party despite his mood swings. The chapter concludes with postcards addressed to both Westerberg and Jan Burress the day before Alex set out into the stampede trail and says " if you don't hear from me again just know you are a magnificent man"
Analysis: I find it crazy just how much a person can mean to someone and not notice how he impacted not only his friends but the world.

Everett also goes but the name, Nemo. As Nemo was on a solo ride in Utah, He suddenly disappears. There was no remaining of his body, no hints or nothing the only thing they found was his donkey in some cave with some drawing and graffiti he made, while he was missing there was a search party to find him but nor did they find him, until this day his case still remains a mystery.

Analysis: I just find it so crazy how both guys went into the went and not one came out alive of the wild, and the fast that mystery of his disappearance is still in question and how no one was able to find him.

Summary: Back to Chris since he lacked identification the Alaska state troopers contacted the anchorage daily news and published about a "mystery guy" to see if anyone was missing a family member or had any information. When Jim Gallien saw the news hr tells the troopers about Alex later on the troopers extend their hunt into SD where they come to a dead-end, later on, the story hits Paul Harvey's radio program. When the story came onto the radio when Wayne Westerberg gives the state troopers Alex's real name and social security number that leads them to Annadale Virginia. As well they find Chris's stepbrother the old-style way and sadly he has to deliver the news to his parents that their son is dead.

Analysis: Can you believe he has to be the person to deliver the news that their missing child is dead omg..... it's crazy how they knew right away to tell the troopers about Alex because they now were able to identify the body...

Christopher and carine were both musicals as well the have raced cross country and had strong drive to succeed in everything. When he left he didn't make so much communication with his family or anyone in general and it was like that for a while until he cut off all contact with them. His father maintained another relationship with another woman with kids while going back and forth with his mother and that made Chris despise his father more.

Analysis: This is crazy you see more drama on why he wanted to leave... i mean c'mon who wouldn't be mad. like thinking hes only ur dad and loyal but in reality has a whole other family oh no....

As they retraced his steps they found out there was a cable cord not even within 20 minutes away from where they cross the river later on the men arrived at the bus and they searched inside discovering many of Chris's belongings including his homemade Bell jeans nail clippers and his hiking boots. they feel like they're trespassing on his final resting place but they still camped outside the bus because no I want to sleep inside because it was scary they felt like Chris was Haunting the bus later on this app I the fire and the all reflected on Chris and they respected his desire for the adventure that Many people would be scared to take

Analysis:Does he ever think about taking a map. or try asking someone for directions because it would have been easier if he didn't have to cross the current and could have took in the cable car ???

Summary: On July 8th Chris returned to the Magic Bus after failing to cross the river. Chris highlighted many sections in doctors of eagles they all relate. Christmas wishes to read tigery into social and share his life with others. In his journal he writes many stops explaining how he felt weak in Grave Danger and told us how stuff started getting a little rocky..There could have been 3 reasons he got poisoned. 1: he became so hungry like he ate moldy seeds 2: he ate poison potato seeds or 3: since he was so skinny his body fought energy to fight off eating sweet pea plants. As he shoots one last selfie holding a card saying: I lived a blessed life and thank the Lord for it. Thank you and may God bless you all. which led to him passing away on August 19th 1992 he had lasted 112 days end his journey I'm only 19 days before the other people found the bus in September

Analysis: This chapter really took a big toll on me because Chris has gone away due to family problems and he wanted to feel more free and even though he did no matter what he did and ended up in death he thought he was going to do something better with his life by going into the wild but instead never made it out the wild.

Summary: It's been 10 months after the death of Chris the family is set out to go and visit the "Magic Bus" trying to recreate the steps he took but they couldn't so they just flew out there. They wandered around the bus for almost three hours just looking at his belonging and as well going to visit the river where he would go and get water. But oddly Billie seems very calm and centered, after visiting her son's last moments it made her realize he passed away doing what he loves. before they left they made a little memorial plaque for Chris.

Analysis: It's truly so sad that any parent has to go through this but I honestly feel like the parents ESPECIALLY the father had no right to say he should've done what he did because one main reason he left was because of his father.

Summary: this book end Journey went through so many ups and downs that my feelings are all over the place. I understand that he left because of some news that he had found out I mean I would want to 2 with the news he got but he could have resolved that problem with confronting his father we're speaking about it with Any of his siblings or his mother but I mean who can blame the boy his whole life his parents never really paid attention to him they expected so much for him. I'm proud of him because he was determined on doing the trip I mean it was kind of common sense for him to take some stuff like a map or phone or something that he can keep contact in with someone from the world. it's sad because he couldn't finish this trip without coming home I can say this was a really good book.

#itshouldveendedbetter

As a child I can honestly say it was rare where my parents would take us out because my parents were really hard working and still I never had the time to take us out other than Sundays. as well as my parents aren't the type of people who would like to travel all the time because they would be tired or they just didn't want to. I think the future journey is to travel an experiment with nature more because it's beautiful there. The Greenery, the water, is just mother nature in general. I often find myself enjoying the sunset while sitting in the park. I just watch them from a house. My Odyssey journey book would be filled with pictures of me with new people, my family and me and mother nature.

#mother nature
