It is a prove of the dissaproval and satanization suicide had because of how it was seen like a sin according to christian relgion (most religions also have this kind of dissaproval).
I find interesting that this source resembles a sermon or what a preacher would have told his followers. The dissaproval can be infered from the first parragraph of the text in which, before narrating what happened, it is stated that commiting suicide is cause for not receiving the benefits a good christian has when they die.

In this account it is explained how the couple was going through economic difficulties because of the imprisonment of the husband. But, in contrast to the other account, in this one there is an "explication" or motive for the woman commiting suicide.
