I posted to my Facebook page asking about forms of communication between teachers and parents. After I posted, I was notified of each comment on the initial post. I was able to respond and have multiple conversations within the post.
Result:
I had multiple responses that I can utilize during my time as a teacher. I was told multiple communication applications and how frequently parents want to hear from their child's teacher! I feel it was a very beneficial dialogue.
Utility:
This social media can allow me to access the more personal side of teaching. I can discuss things with people I know. This could lead to parents of students and parents of students I do not teach. I can understand what other local teachers and parents are enjoying.
Relevance:
I feel like parent-teacher communication is so valuable. I feel like building these relationships may be hard for new teachers. The basis of Facebook is to connect with others, mainly those you know on a personal level. Instead of posting about my life, I will pose a question on my account to parent's regarding parent-teacher communication. In the future, this may be a good social media to communicate with other teachers I become friends with.

Twitter:
Twitter is a widely used social media site. You can fix your Twitter feed to show what you would like by following chats, hashtags, or individuals of your interests. I will find hashtags related to elementary age teachers and utilizing technology in the classroom and communicate with teachers in the field.

Previously, I have only used Twitter for social purposes only. 

Reddit:
This is a great forum website to interact with others. With the subreddits, it is easy to find exactly what you are wishing to speak about. I will be looking for advice for myself, relating to student-teaching and substitute. I may also look for technology uses in the classroom.

I have never used Reddit before now; I have only heard of it.

Pinterest:
Pinterest is a feed or board of pictures, items, and ideas. You can share these with others through the Pinterest messaging system or outside of Pinterest.

I went onto Twitter and searched different hashtags, including #edtech and #elementaryteacher. I was attempting to find different tech tools that can be utilized in the classroom and other fun activities or lessons. I responded to posts made by others and
Results:
I was able to find how a teacher, Mrs. Jontos, utilized Flipgrid, a cool new tech tool, and how she utilized it in the classroom. I was able to see the awesome videos the kids created through Flipgrid retelling the story of Peter and the Wolf. I learned that she has created take-home assignments for her students. I have thought about doing this in the future with Flipgrid but did not know if it would be successful. She didn't seem to have luck due to lack of communication sent home.

Mrs. Culgiari posted with the hashtag #elementaryteacher talking about a fun classroom activity. She was able to send the lesson file to me directly through direct message on Twitter. I imagined using this lesson as an introduction at the beginning of the year or to begin pen pals in the class!
Utility:
Having the ability to look up things specific to your needs as a teacher is important; this is possible when utilizing Twitter through the hashtag system. I felt like I could accomplish this and discuss them with teachers who are in the classroom. Twitter also has scheduled edchats that individuals could partake in to learn what is being done in other classrooms.
Relevance:
New teachers need to create a whole school year worth of assignments and activities for their students. For my interactions, I searched the subreddits /r/teachers/ and /r/teaching/. I found a forum where every Thursday you can ask educators questions. I asked for advice regarding student-teaching and substitute teaching. I also asked questions of Stark VR, in regards to funding virtual reality headsets in the classroom.  I then was alerted in my messages when I received responses to my questions.
Results:
I feel that I received honest and straight-forward responses. I received two personal responses when asking for advice from other teachers and one response directly from SparkVR for the other. StarkVR was very valuable because it further explained the process of a school gaining their systems, along with pricing.
Utility:
Although you do not know if they are truly teachers, you can get some great advice. If I were the individual in charge of the technology of the school, this would have been a great start to incorporate Stark Virtual Reality headsets into the school.
Relevance:
Upcoming teachers what to know how to succeed; they want dialogue of how they can better themselves or overcome issues. I created a Pinterest board last year named Lesson Planning. The board is public to anyone who has the application. They can see anything I post and continue the sharing chain by reposting, sharing, or liking. When I find a cool lesson idea, I simply pin the post to the Lesson Planning board.

I also share cool things from Pinterest to individuals. Below, you can see where I discussed with my husband, who helps me with my 3rd grade lifegroup, about decorating our room. I have also had conversations with other Lifegroup leaders through Pinterest.
Results:
Multiple people have re-pinned my posts from this and I have been able to use some of the ideas for lesson facilitations for my college courses. Communication through the Pinterest messaging system also comes easy, as you can see below.
Utility:
Pinterest is a great tool for creating new, fun lesson plans. Most of these come from real teachers who have found these useful and beneficial to the students.
Relevance:
I think it is a good idea-sharing and communication in regards to lesson planning.
