The shaded and extremely sunny areas are ideal for the Bougainvillea since it can tolerate both. Similarly to the Coconut Tree it can tolerate a lot of water, but does not enjoy lack of soil drainage. They are also omnivores so they eat a lot of leaves, fruit, bark, and buds which there is a surplus of in the rainforest.
