He would became alcoholic, which cause his mental health much worsen. He would always drinking whenever he remember the horrible nightmare at the POW's camp, he would remember the bird and other beating him and how they dehumanized him. One day, when his wife Cynthia drag him and asked if they can go to billy gram, it took a couple hours for Louie to say yes. Finally, he went to billy gram, and then something awakening him. It seem that this man can see all of Louie memories, that is where Louie finally changed. His brother had convinced him to start running. He was then offered into the Olympics! Louie accepted. Later on after that, Louie was drafted in the war. Louie was a bombardier. On a mission to find his fellow soldiers, Louie, Phil and Mac had crashed in the middle of the ocean because of engine failure. They were trapped on a raft where they lost Mac. Then Louie, and Phil were taken as POW's (Prisoners Of War). Both men struggled to survive. The men's parents and family's were told they were dead. But it turned out Louie and Phil were alive.
