         <description><![CDATA[<div>Robinson was part of the 761st "Black Panthers" Tank Battalion. The 761st division was the first all black tank unit to see action in WW2. He never saw action  in war though because he was court-martialed for not moving to the back of the US Army hospital bus.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> He started to get offers and interests from major league teams like the Boston Red Sox and the Brooklyn Dodgers. The only real person who had actually showed interest in signing Robinson was Branch Rickey, the General Manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Rickey formally signed Robinson  for $600 a month, equal to $8,350 today, making him the first African-American MLB player.</div>]]></description>
