An online virtual library resource targeted towards primary/junior students. Its a remarkable tool that will read out loud information about a variety of topics such as animals, biographies, space, etc... It is a perfect entry level for young students to independently explore topics of their choice. The information is condensed into manageable pieces for young students to consume. The text to speech aspect allows readers and non-readers to learn and explore.

Augmentation: Pebble Go allows students to augment their learning experience by being able to consume more in depth and deeper information through the text to speech aspect. Where as prior to this student would have been limited to reading books at their grade level/learning level, students can now explore topics they previously wouldn't have been able to

Students can Freely focus on what they want to learn. Teachers can make any number of open ended tasks with any number of curriculum goals and have students work at their own level to research and inquire about a variety of topics.
This technology allows for a true UDL learning experience because many learners can access this information. Teachers can differentiate through learning goals and success criteria, but all can access the tools and information

Google Apps for Education

Although I was already somewhat familiar with Google Apps for Education, I chose to explore it in more depth because it is something my board has access to. I am so glad I did! There are apps within the Good Suites that I had no idea existed, and apps which have so much more opportunity and value than I would have thought!
Inquiry-specific apps within the platform vary, but one that stands out is the Google Read and Write, which I had previously always reserved as Asisstive Technology, but in reality it is so much more. You can highlight terms and automatically receive definitions, automatically create vocabulary lists, text to speech higher level readings, etc...
Many of the other apps- Google docs, slides- allow teachers to present students with guided provocations and then collaboratively work on their own inquiry.

Both Google Apps for Education and Pebble Go offer a combination of TCK and TPK depending on how you use it. Because inquiry is based on a pedagogical strategy, I would say that the specific use would be TPK.

Inquiry-based learning is an approach to teaching and learning that places students’ questions, ideas and observations at the centre of the learning experience. Educators play an active role throughout the process by establishing a culture where ideas are respectfully challenged, tested, redefined and viewed as improvable, moving children from a position of wondering to a position of enacted understanding and further questioning (Scardamalia, 2002). Underlying this approach is the idea that both educators and students share responsibility for learning.

Collaboration: Intricately woven into inquiry is the need for collaboration. Technology such as Google Docs/slides/hangouts, padlet Coggle, etc... we can easily allow students to collaborate. Through hearing others’ perspectives, students come to a better understanding of their own ideas and approaches to questions and problems.
