One thing i achieved in this lesson was being able to voice my ideas to the group i was in, which was with people i don't usually work with (Callum, Hazel and Sophie) so i am starting to get more confidence working in groups. The film was good but at some points boring, I found the review quite hard to write as I had to put a lot of my opinions of the film in the review and I count say too much about it that was good. I learned how to count ballot papers in a certain way, we did this method to help elect the new student rep for our class. After lunch we had a lesson with Leila looking at horror codes and conventions. We also made and experimented with different horror music for different things happening in the scene. I was partnered with Mollie and made a relatively good burn on Mollie which took half an hour to create, I didn't know how I wanted the burn to look, but I went with what I had and it worked. (picture below) I made the main bulk of the "burn" blistered and bloody, this was harder than expected. I have worked with special affects before but I haven't ever done it on this scale before. After this, Mollie created a cut on me and had a bone sticking out of the cut, I believe it was very good. Our last task after lunch was to create an eyeball, I found this really interesting but also very difficult. I was partnered with Sam and I believe. we tried our best even if the eyeball didn't turn out the way we wanted. I found this process quite interesting as we did it last week in tutorial but i didn't understand it properly, This week i found i fully understood it and was able to help cliff and spot any errors cliff made. After break we had Leila and watched more videos about how useful some things are in movies such as a simple conversation with someone about a burger (pulp fiction) And the dialogue is really key. this helped me decide how i would like to lay out my script. Today we also wrote our first draft of our script. After the speeches and presentations I stayed to do work and have found out if we need to do work by ourself I am better removing myself from everyone as everyone had gone home by the time I finished doing my work and he last hour I was there was when I was most productive. On top I was doing the idea I wanted to do which was Rebecca's idea. After break I swapped groups with Callum as he did not get on well with his group, I was given the option not to swap, but I get on with the girls in that group and the idea isn't bad. The people in the group are Mollie, Tabitha, Chloe and Jayne. The first method I used a manikin head and applied liquid latex to it, i then after letting it dry, peel it off while covering it in talcum powder to stop it sticking to itself. The method worked, however, it wasn't what we wanted as it scrunched up and it wasn't recognisable as a face.
The second method as shown by the picture below, Mollie and Dave helped me on as we had to cover the whiteboard in a mixture of liquid latex and red paint (to show the colour of skin as liquid latex dries white/slightly yellow) and as we tried to take it off, even using the talcum powder it wasn't working. so the method didn't work for us, but Dave told us we used the wrong surface and he would bring us the correct surface on Tuesday.
The final method i tried today was applying the paint and latex mix to mollies arm to see if it would come off how we wanted it to, however, unfortunately we left it too long and i think we put too much paint in as it dried to mollies arm and she had to pull off the pain little bit by little bit and it got stuck to her arm hair so we decided not to use this method.
This class was a bit difficult as Chloe and Jayne didn't talk to us all day and we only saw them at the end of the day and the producer didn't know where there were. One thing i have to make is a skin suit, I've tried to research how to do this, but no one has ever made something like what Mollie wants. This is slightly out of my comfort zone of what i know what to do, but i don't know what i can and cant do if i don't push myself and try to do what Mollie wants. The props we need also consist of a creepy doll which i may have at home if my mum would let me use it. Our pitch went quite well as we all described our different job roles and different pre production work we each did. Before we did our pitch we all finished our pre production work, i had to finish my mood boards on different things. 
Throughout the day i found it difficult to talk to everyone in the group because there was alot of tension and Chloe and Jayne wouldnt talk to Tabitha and Mollie so i had to be the peace maker and talk to everyone to help them communicate, which means at the beginning of the day i had to go through with everyone and help them decide what they were going to do for that day. 
After class Mollie and I went to Dave to try and make the skin as we are filming at 10am tomorrow morning. When we got there, Dave got the correct surface and we tried again, however it still didn't come out how it was meant to so after an hour of trying; Dave got out a different liquid latex which is a better quality and he didn't mix it with paint as it stops the latex being as sticky. We didn't have time to finish the liquid latex at college so Dave let me take home the things to make it and do it home as long as i returned it after we finished filming. 
When i got home, i started making the latex skin and hour after i got home at 7:45 and didn't finish until 1am. Before they got there, Tabitha and I helped Mollie to block out the window in the rooms we were filming in and block out the sensors as Mollie has automatic sensor lights that turn on as someone walks past so we had to stop that happening. 
After Jayne and Chloe arrived I go into the room where i put the skin and I start sewing it together with Mollie, this took longer than expected but we thought it was okay because Chloe and Jayne were doing practice shots, so we carried on sewing the skin together. In future projects I will try and do these things in advance. However, I only had one evening to make the skin and i ended up spendings 10 hours on the skin over 2 days. Unfortunately we didn’t do any filming today, but mollie, Tabitha and I all experimented with the different skin textures you can see on our shared Padlet wall with all our documents on, we tried many different things, but we settled with black face paint as a base and red food colouring on top, we plan to put fake blood on the skin and doll when we do the skin scene.
