Fonded by spanish as "El pueblo de nuestra senora, the Reina de Los Angeles of the Rio de la Porciuncula de Asis" or "The village of Santa Maria degli Angeli of the Porziucola of Assisi" assured the status of the city on june 9, 1850. 
Los Angeles is scietific and economic centre of international importance. It also the world capital of film industry, based in one of the city's most popular suburbs Hollywood.
