What information does it offer in terms of immigrant experience? https://padlet.com/efarley20211_1/1w0pilgjfjntuh69/wish/1506809397 Many of the problems explored in the Fallows' reports could be helped by welcoming immigrants as part of the community, and by making the path to legal immigration much easier. 
-Immigrants are a very real population of young families or laborers or business owners, all of which are desperately needed by many small towns across the nation. 
-The harder it is for people to enter the country legally, presumably the more undocumented immigrants there would be. This leaves immigrants open to having their labor exploited, because their employers can pay them less than minimum wage under threat of being reported, contributing to the unemployment of people living in those communities. (to be clear: this is the fault of the employer’s greed, NOT the immigrants who are being exploited!) Easier paths to legal immigration would help to reduce this, and help more immigrants to be fully paid and able to contribute to the local economy
-Towns within the 100 mile border zone may be more dangerous for immigrants, possibly contributing to less people moving to some of these small towns whose economies could benefit from more incoming people. 2/3 of the U.S. population and 9 out of the 10 biggest cites (by metropolitan area) are within this zone.
-This builds upon the info in the Dickerson article, demonstrating even more the ways in which the human rights of immigrants, and specifically immigrants from Mexico, are violated by the U.S. government.
