An action’s ethics are based on consequences in this case. A principle is a basis of something. Ethics revolve around morality and what is ‘right.’ Whether or not to take part in an action is usually based on one’s principles and morals. How this relates to the Vietnam War is the controversy behind U.S. involvement. It was highly discussed whether or not it was moral to get involved. Consequence ethics come into play as the results heavily swayed beliefs on the involvement. The government and many Americans initially believed that involvement was moral because we were ‘helping’ the south and participating in the containment of communism.
