Yes, it does sound as a matter of fact very very creepy and terrible, because it is.

"I went behind a tree and started building a snowman. A few minutes later I saw an eight-legged creature that looked around 9-feet tall. The legs were so hairy and big and its beady eyes looked straight at me. The walk of the animal made barely any sound but it was terrifying. I was running away from the creature and stopped behind another tree thinking I lost it, but then I heard the strange footsteps against the fluffy snow. I was going to start walking back home, but as soon as I turned around the supersized tarantula and I were looking into each other’s eyes, and I felt the moist breath of the hairy spider on my nose."
Fear Story Narrative

Chains Focus Question Response - Part 3

Focus Question: Each chapter of Chains is prefaced with a historical excerpt from a primary source. Choose one of those excerpts and analyze its connection to that chapter or to the story overall. Why did Anderson choose that particular excerpt? What does it say? What do you think she is trying to emphasize with that choice? (You may choose any excerpt from any chapter.) Use simple page number citations for each quotation.
Response/Answer (summarized):
I think that the historical excerpts as a primary source was in each chapter of Chains was to engage the reader and make them feel like they are a part of the story. On page 130, at the beginning of chapter 21 the historical excerpt was of a slave auction and helps the reader to understand what slave auctions were like and how they worked. An important part about this excerpt is that the prices of the slaves were different based on experience, age, background etc. This is important in Chains because Isabel thinks that it’s terrible for people to treat her like an object as they did in the excerpt of the slave auction. Anderson may have included this excerpt because of the way Isabel and her family was treated.
Chains Topics and Symbol Trackers Part 3

Animal Testing Argumentative Essay - conclusion

Animal testing is negative because of high death rates, torture, and inaccuracy. The cost of researching animals is overwhelmingly high, and there are more reliable methods of testing that are much more clear, concise, and provide additional information. Most importantly, animal research is unethical because of the dangers for not only animals but humans as well. While publicized experiments already show how the animal research industry could care less about animals’ lives, peoples’ lives are also in danger because of how they could potentially use products toxic to them. In conclusion, animal testing is unreliable, expensive, and kills millions of animals worldwide annually.

Animal Testing Argumentative Essay

Does it make sense to suddenly get taken to an unknown destination with people you barely know and conditions you never lived in? I don’t think so. Anyway, that brings me to my final reason why we shouldn’t get this treatment, nor should any American. The living conditions of the camps are much worse than where I used to live. I used to live in a decent house, to say the least, with a few bedrooms and nice furniture but now, we have to live in stark and dirty barracks where we are threatened to be shot if we try to leave.
Letter to FDR

Anne is someone I can’t feel bad for. As cold, heartless, or mean as that may sound to someone, that is something I firmly believe. She thinks that because she shows the side of her that talks back to people to Mother and Pim, that is the reason why people hate her and why people love me. Well, that’s what they say. I think they give me compliments and such to let me know that I’m recognized. but I feel like Anne’s shadow or something. Growing up, Mother only talks to me if she wants me to help her with something, not asking how I’m doing. As sad as it may sound, I’ve gotten used to it. That’s why I don’t talk back. Anne is lucky though she doesn’t know it. Mother does talk to her about chores a lot too, but she tries her best to understand Anne to the best she can, unlike me. On top of everything, Anne has a passion and something exciting to wake up to every morning. Me? I’m just like a housemaid or something. I don’t want to give Mother a hard time, but I wish someone would understand that I’m not perfect all the time. Sometimes I make a lot of mistakes. But, everyone is too busy with their own lives to even look at me. Everyone says that I’m a role model for Anne even though she’s nothing like me.

Secret Annex Scrapbook POV

The metaverse is labeled as a place where we can be our “true selves”, but how true is that statement? After analyzing pieces of literature such as The Machine Stops and Ready Player One as well as “The Articles”, a pattern that we constantly see with the metaverse, is a battle with peoples’ identity. Even though the metaverse is a virtual world to escape from reality, it affects people both physically and mentally. The effects of the metaverse on personal identity can be due to the creation of online avatars, limits to their imagination, and disconnection from reality.
The Metaverse Literary Analysis Essay
