This broadcast is very informative. It is very eye-opening. "The banks do not put your money into a depository vault." It feels like President Roosevelt really wanted to work towards bettering the financial system and the overall economy. He brought up a lot of different points that were very in depth, informational, and detailed. He looks at America as us (as citizens) versus the issues in America rather than doing what Hoover did. We definitely needed help from the government during the Depression.

"Let me say that when the bank takes your money, they do not put your money into a safe vault. They invest it..." The facts that he gives during the Fireside Chats actually makes me trust him. He's being completely honest with how the banks work. Not only that, but he explains in detail on how he plans to reform the financial institutions. Even though it is a bit difficult to understand what he's saying (static in the background), the use of layman terms makes it much easier. I can understand how Americans felt when listening, in the context of feeling as if the president is speaking directly to them. The use of the words "my friends" makes his speech sound more direct and personal. His more casual terms and choice of words makes him appear more trustworthy in his speech. He ends the speech with confident uplifting, which drives his point home and makes it feel genuine.

When President Roosevelt said "Republicans and Democrats alike -- showed by this action a devotion to public welfare" it comes off as optimistic. He is trying to reassure Americans that the government is going to start working for them, and care about their needs. I also think he's addressing criticism when he says "that there is nothing complex, or radical in the process." People would criticize him by saying this action was "radical".

I feel like the way he bluntly said this is good because it shows that he's not purposely trying to mislead the public or make excues for banks. He also addresses his audiance as "My friends," which could help Americans sense his sincerity, and trust in what hes saying. This radio broadcast makes me lose trust in the banks as well as doesn't make me want to trust anyone or anything with my money because they'll just use it without me knowing and go behind my back. It portrays the fact that the banks are not trustworthy and are manipulating the money of the citizens. The quote, "The banks are giving out undivided loans" could also elaborate on the fact on how banks should remain untrusted by the public and how the choice of trusting your money with the banks, is a poor choice based on president Roosevelt's opinion.

While listening to the beginning of FDR's radio broadcast he explains why he was closing the banks. He explained what the bank does with the money, investing it into credit. Bank workers were being dishonest with the citizens money using it in speculation and etc. FDR uses this broadcast to set ease on the people who have lost their jobs or have had their money used in the wrong way. Slowly opening up banks that have been checked and cleared to reopen so that the economic state does not repeat again.
"In other words the bank puts your money into work"-FDR.
