The Vietnam war was the longest war, going for almost 20 years. Not a lot of people know that the Vietnam War cost about 200 billion dollars, and most of the soldiers were actually volunteered, there was 8.7 million who volunteered, and there was 2.7 million who were actually drafted. There was 125,000 who fled to Canada to avoid being drafted.
There was more then 3 million killed in total. 
The US used a chemical called Agent Orange during the Vietnam War, which resulted in 400,000 people were killed or maimed and 500,000 having birth defects.
In Vietnam it is called 'The American War'. Vietnam was under the French colony and wanted to be independent in 1954, today Vietnam is a communist state. 
The US didn't lose the Vietnam War, they withdrew before the US really lost.
In April 1975, south Vietnam surrendered to north Vietnam, as their troops entered Saigon, ending the Vietnam conflict. The dictator of north Vietnam, was Ho Chi Minh was buried in Saigon which is now called Ho Chi Minh City.

WW2 was the most destructive war in history. approximately 64 million people were killed during the war, and it was estimated 1.5 million of that were children who were killed during the holocaust. A lot of countries hated war after what happened and they were hesitate to be in any other wars. There were the Allied and Axis power, the Allied powers being Britain, France, Russia, China, United States and Australia. The Axis power were Germany, Italy and Japan. Sweden, Spain and Switzerland stayed neutral. The United States didn't join the war until 1941 when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. 
Germany and Russia signed a pact treaty, but then Russia shanked Germany in the back. 
Hitler created a fight in the sky called Blitzkrieg meaning lightning war or bombing important cities. 
In 1945 a lot was happening, fist Mussolini was captured and executed in April, then Hitler commits suicide a couple days later (oh no! the love of my life was executed I must die now), and the Germans were forced to surrendered, then later in the year in August, America dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima killed about 80 000 people, then 3 days later they dropped another atomic bomb on Nagasaki killing about 40 000 people.
