Anne wanted to do it so she wrote her diary again this time more organized and neater (but she didn't change much of the words).  The Secret Annex where Anne, her family, and other people lived was the top floor of Anne's dads old factory. They had to keep the windows closed, they couldn't make any noise or wear shoes because the workers might hear the noise and get caught.
