Having several years of work experience and reading chapter two has helped me to be conscious of being ethical in the workplace. Being aware of your company's code of ethics is very important. After reading chapter two I am reminded of the importance of sustainability of the business. Most people think that this is only a concern at the executive level. I believe that sustainability is a concern at every level. I am now consistently thinking of ways to make things effective and efficient to contribute to the sustainability of my company. In the workplace and through the readings I have come to understand more and more the need for and importance of diversity in the workplace. No two people are the same and we are all capable of setting aside our differences in order to work toward a common goal. Not only should we be able to look past our differences, but we should be able to use those differences to help eachother in our everyday projects. I am trying to actively put this in place each day at work by embracing our differences and using them to gain ideas and insights to work towards a goal.

Discrimination in the workplace, or anywhere for that matter, should never be tolerated. It is absolutely foolish and is something that is learned like Mandela states. We have to actively train our minds to undo the things that we may have been taught or seen along the way. We need to use our differences to help eachother not to tear eachother apart.
