Summary: Overall, Uganda is very different compared to other countries in Africa, but also very similar. The family roles are very similar; the women are in charge of the housework, while the men provide. The parents usually provide for the children, while the aunt and uncles pick out who their nieces and nephews will marry. Boys in the rural areas are forced to leave their homes at the age of 15 and build their own huts. Education in Uganda is very similar the education system in Great Britain. The rural families tend to not send their kids to school, but urban families do to private schools. The children are responsible to pay for their own uniforms and books. All in all, Uganda has some interesting and different cultural values.
