The Crusades were a series of religious attacks from the Christians to the Muslims. They fought mainly to protect holy land that was seen as valueable in both religions. Many historians believed that the crusades ended because one of the final Crusader cities, Acre, fell to Muslim Mamluks.

https://www.history.com/topics/middle-ages/crusades#section_9

The Cold War was a conflict between the Unites States and the USSR. It wasn't a WAR, per say, because they never actually fought. It was just an intense relationship between the two countries. The U.S. thought the communists were trying to take over the world.

https://www.history.com/topics/cold-war/cold-war-history#:~:text=In%20June%201950%2C%20the%20first,nonintervention%20was%20not%20an%20option.

The Roman Empire fell due to a handful of reasons. For one thing, every king they had was corrupt, and would end up being overthrown. This would lead to conflict because if every king they had was corrupt, no one could lead the military and stop the barbarian invasions, which eventually led to its fall.

https://www.history.com/news/8-reasons-why-rome-fell#:~:text=Invasions%20by%20Barbarian%20tribes,encroached%20beyond%20the%20Empire's%20borders.

The Civil War is a pretty obvious example of conflict. The Untited States were divided into people who believed in slavery (the south,) and people who thought it was wrong (north.)
