Around the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty of the Western Han Dynasty (in the first century), large and small clan tribes appeared on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China. After years of peace and war, several tribal alliances have been formed, among which the Yalong Tribal Alliance in the Shannan Valley, the Xiangxiong Kingdom in the Ali region and the Supi Tribal Alliance north of the Yarlung Zangbo River are the most powerful. At this time, the ancient name of the Lhasa River "Jiqu" has appeared.
