b)It is surprising to me how just a trivial matter like race or gender can affect whether you get a job. And that like no matter how you look some may be underprivileged and privileged regardless gender or race.
c)The point where they asked whether the participants had been rejected in an interview before because of their race and skin colour really got me thinking whether in the future will such a thing still remain or will we ever overcome that social barrier and start accepting people for who they are

The experiment was to see if there really was equality in Singapore.As Singaporeans we are usually told that we are all equal and have the same privileges, however this experiment proved that it was not the case. The results were surprising as there was a huge range of people with different privileges.
b) In Singapore although we always hear others tell us that we are so fortunate of have a equal society. However, by watching this video i have learnt that race religion and social economic status really affects the privileges that people get.We may not ever realize how privileged we are until we see others that do not even have what we have because of their race or religion .
c)In the video they said that people could get rejected just because of races. It got me thinking that how would our future, be trying to find a job . The video showed the opinions of privilege on the people who took the experiment and what they felt about being the most or least privileged due to their backgrounds.
B)The major race usually tends to be more privileged compared to the minority. The minority tends to have more difficulties in finding a job due to their background.
In Singapore, although it is always taught that we should accept others as our equals, regardless of race, this experiment shows that in the real world, such things will still happen and it can be difficult to change due to our differences.

In the end, when the results were shown, the gaps were very noticeable which shows how different we can be in terms of being priveleged as Singaporeans.
b) I thought about how creative the experiment was. By asking a few questions related to their lives, the effect or message at the end can really be powerful.
c) It was the part when they asked about whether race and skin colour has affected their job interviews. I wonder if this situations would still occur when I'm oder.

B)I thought about how privileged some are compared to others without them knowing it and being thankful of how privileged they are.

b)During the video , i thought like one of the person that everyone positions at the end was roughly the same but was shocked that the gap between the majority group and minority group was so large. B) I did not expect for a job, people get judged because of their race and gender, and it can actually cause them the job that they wanted.

It is designed to visually represent privileges of one. The teenagers started on the same line, then they will either have to take one step backward or forward in response to 35 questions on privilege and disprivilege.

b) I think that this social experiment is really meaningful but at the same time, I felt disappointed and sad upon seeing where the teenagers end up at the end of the video. Our national pledge consists of these words " regardless of race, language or religion, to build a democratic society, based on justice and equality " that means that no matter what race we are from, what language we speak and what religion we are, we are all equal. However, in the video
there are people that have been rejected in a job interview because of their race/skin colour, bullied/discriminated in Singapore based on their country of origin, been excluded from a sport because of their gender and blamed their mistakes on their gender/ethnicity. It is very ironic when our national pledge has " regardless of race, language or religion, to build a democratic society, based on justice and equality " yet there are people out there bullied/discriminated because of their race, language or religion. There is one guy that expect his ending positions with 15 other teenagers to be roughly the same as they are all Singaporeans but in actual fact, their ending positions differs by quite a bit, which also shows that everyone have different experience/ encounter in different questions which result to them standing in different positions in the very end.

c)" If you were uncomfortable about a joke/statement you overheard related to your race, gender, appearance, or sexual orientation but felt unsafe to confront the situation " I feel that everyone should learn to be more sensitive about the way they speak and spare a thought about other's feelings, the people cracking the joke could think it is funny, but it could bring harm or discomfort to the person they are speaking about.

b)Everyone of them had different privileges, this experiment has somehow shown the minority group may have lesser privileges than the majority group as the privileges still depended on racial, finances, social differences. They were also asked on sensitive issues that no one would really touch on and we wouldn't think of it much that it was actually seen as a reason for the differences in privileges. And it was interesting to hear their thoughts based on what they concluded on the experiment especially there was one person who thought that since they were all Singaporeans at the end of the experiment they would all roughly be standing near to each other but they were all spread across.

c) People who have joked about race, gender,sexual orientation,appearance should think twice whether they should joke about it or not, if it was a joke between close friends it may seem off as really just a joe but some people are really sensitive of these topics and in order not to hurt any ones feelings it's always best to not bring it up. in the future i hope that job interviews wont ever be rejected based on race or skin colour as it doesnt reflect on how the person may actually be fit or the job as for example the person who went for the interview could be perfect for the job but was rejected because of his or her race, i believe it would be unfair and they shouldn't judge based on their race n physical characteristics.

Different questions were asked, to see the difference in privileges and show how different in privileged can a person differ to another even In the slightest things. When the experiment came to a end the results made people realize the big difference compared to another .

b)I felt that despite the fact that we are all Singaporean there is still a disparity in privileged, and people sometimes don tends to realize that . Everyone have different privileges whether small or big its still a privilege that someone else may not have in life . Singapore is know as a multi racial society but however you can see in the video people are judge base in their skin colour ,race , gender or even appearance . One person in the experiment expected themselves to have similar standing but the results were totally opposite ,the difference were huge and the minority can been to be less privileged than the majority . This show that what a person feel is discriminative can be different from another and people have different point of views .

c) Sometimes people tends to make racist jokes or jokes that concerns a person appearance be it skin colour ,gender, body size or sexual orientation ,to the offender it could be nothing but jut trying to be funny but the victim of the joke can be really hurt by it as sometimes it can be sensitive to some . People should not be taken of a job just because of their race or skin colour ,it should be fair to everyone as Singapore's pledge states "regardless of race ,language or religion ,to build a democratic society ,based on justice and equality". We are together as one nation hence we should respect one and other and put ourselves in each other's shoes ,if we don't want to be hurt by what others Dothan we should not do things that might be hurtful to someone else.

At the end of the experiment, there was quite a huge gap formed from the most privileged person to the least privileged person.

b)I thought about how the people might have felt sad when they were discriminated based on their different identities. After understanding how they felt about getting discriminated and treated differently, I think we should all treat one another equally without prejudging them.

c)The video said "uncomfortable about a joke or statement related to your race"

Which is, exactly why many are trying so hard in their lives to climb up the ladder of social hierachy, which is based on the different types of identity we learnt, due to stereotyping, due to greed and due to human nature. the law of the nature, that as resource is limited, one would always have a better chance than others.
b) I felt that the video was very educational and inspiring as it vividly shows and is able to awaken others of the reality of life. Where discrimination comes as an underlying factor. How does the world discrminate people? FIrst of all, it is by the worth of a person. Then, how does the worth of the people around the world is measured? By their qualification, their social bond, their family inheritance(whether they were born with gold spoons), their assests own comes first, next is their personality and race and religion. Why does the world discriminate? Why do they give a value? This is because of human nature to survive. Our life is nothing different from the animals we see in the wild. the rich are the tigers and the apex predators, the poor are those plants growing in the wild. and, as can be seen, the weak is the one always being decimated by the strong . However, the reason that we can climb the social hierachy by increasing our value by doing work ourselves is different. Although, there is a limit though. and that is what the experiment clearly shows, isn't it?
yes. i am privileged, born into a middle class family and can continue all the sorts of education in life, and not die out of hunger, though i do have trouh sometimes.. when i compare it to the wild, i see myself as probably a deer. which do have a stable life,but always having dangers surrounding it. being rich to a certain extent only is not truly a very large benefit, in my opinion, especally when you compare yourself with those born with gold spoons, like donald trump. although the fact is, that evn a middle class like me is still clearly better than those people living in the slums of india...

Questions that required them to step backward would be those that experienced in middle to low socio-economic status .In the end, the result had shown that people despite having the same nationality but they shared different privileges especially in Singapore where every races supposedly be equal.

b) I felt that the result from the experiment was an expected one. Mainly because I felt that despite the fact that Singapore has four main races but the majority race being the Chinese will have more privilege as compared to other minority races. Nevertheless, I still felt that the experiment was very meaningful in raising the awareness of different privilege among Singaporeans.

c) One of the lady in this video did acknowledged that the majority race which is the Chinese might end up somewhere in front but even among the Chinese there was still different in privilege that each of them experienced. b) I didn’t expect the gap between the Singaporean youths was that large as they all seem to be around the same privilege. I think people should be grateful and should not think that they have less privilege than others so people should help them or that they have more privilege and look down on others. There are so much more people out there in the world which we may not know... And in this multiracial and religious country, people should not differentiate themselves on the physical characteristics and beliefs, we are humans, we all have feelings, people should work together for a more harmonious society.

c) I feel that i am fortunate, but i hope in the future people will not judge people by its cover.

I saw a social experiment designed to visually represent privilege and create awareness and understanding among participants and viewers. I saw that everyone has differing privileges due to factors like race, gender and religion.

After watching the video, I realised that although we often believe that we enjoy the same privileges regardless of race and gender, some people receive more benefits than others.

In the video, there were people that were rejected in a job interview because of their race/skin colour. It made me wonder about how I would feel if that were to happen to me when I join the workforce in the future.

After the series of questions being asked I was shocked to see the huge disparity between them based on what all of us have and it seems that even though we practice meritocracy in SG yet we still experience such a huge gap in terms of our background.

b)I feel that even though we often say that people in Singapore all stands on a common ground however based on this social experiment it all seems false The video about the "Privilege walk" made me realised that in our society there is indeed a huge disparity as seen in the video when the youths first started everyone stands at the same line however when more and more questions is being asked on their race , gender and Social economic status we are all separated from one another. This made me feel sad because I feel that everyone should deserve the same benefits and should not be discriminated for who you are no matter whether you are the majority group or the minorities.

c)" As a straight chinese female, I think I will end up somewhere in front because I do have a quite a bit of privilege..." This sentence being said by one of the female youths made me wonder who I really am and it made me rethink what the national pledge really means when I recite it every morning in school. I hope that in future we would practice what we recite in the pledge sincerely and more evidently. Lastly, I hope that we can better understand one another differences and help one another in their needs and ultimately accept one another. a)I saw 16 people of different races and backgrounds coming together for a social experiment. All of them started on the same line. When they were asked questions that were on the negative side, those who experienced it before will have to take a step back. When they were asked positive questions, those who experienced it will have to take a step forward. by the end of the experiment, everyone was standing a different positions. There were some that were standing at the front, and some that were standing at the back, far from the front. This showed that not everyone gets equal privilege in Singapore.
b) I did not expect the gap between the first person and the last person to be so big. I realised that even though we try to treat everyone equally, discrimination of race n background will always somehow take place.
