Being a teacher is a difficult job because you have in your hands students education and is more difficult when this education is in English.
Parents expect their kids to learn fast and to be able to communicate almost as natives.
But this is not case, in the classroom there are a lot of factors that delay the learning process.
Some of them are when you have a heterogeneous group, the limited time to work content and practice and the lack of interesting in some kids.
In my experience I have worked with all of them. My experience is with preschoolers and it is so difficult to try to fill up the content if you have kids that understand some English and if you have kids that don´t understand anything, in my case, what I used to do was to use a lot of flashcards, mimics, song, games, take those kids that were more advanced as class helpers and asked them to help the others to complete the assessments, sometimes kids understand better with other kids help. One thing that is important is to motivate kids and encourage them to achieve the goals, rewards and powerful words are important for them.

Katy Burgos
000103492
