         <description><![CDATA[<div>Shell Berhad has set up an online website to make this recruitment and selection process easier. On this website, there is a link that will bring you to the application process. There are three simple steps to make this process possible. Applicants firstly can explore current opportunities in the company by filling out certain details entailing their skills, location and department of interest that also should be based on their qualifications. Although, there is one criteria that must be fulfilled in order to apply for a job in Shell Berhad. Applicants must have at least three years of working experience. If you fulfil the criteria and once you have selected your department of interest, location and skills, you can complete your first step of online application by submitting your application along with attached copies of required documents.</div><div> <br>Next, if your application is successful, a telephone interview can be arranged within two weeks. The interview usually lasts between 45 minutes to an hour. During this interview, applicants are encouraged to ask questions to discover more about the role. Curiosity might have killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back. Once successful in gaining an offer of employment from shell, applicants are required to go through a formal recruitment process.</div><div> <br>With a successful interview and an offer of employment, applicants will be invited for an assessment within approximately three weeks. Assessments are either a behaviour-based structured interview, a professional interview or a presentation assessing your competencies. At times, it would include scenario-based exercises. This process should take around four hours and the verdict will be notified in a few days.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em><mark>Two alternate ways of recruitment and selection:</mark></em></strong></div><div><br>Employee referral is an alternative method of recruitment and selection. This is an internal recruitment method employed by organizations to identify potential candidates within their existing employees’ social networks. This method would encourage Shell Berhad to select and recruit suitable candidates from their existing social networks, affectively giving an existing employee a promotion thus furthering motivation and efficiency in their work. The advantage of this method is that the current employee would already have the knowledge about the organization thus making them a strong candidate. Furthermore, training cost would be reduced therefore this method is cost-efficient. The only downside to this is that it hinders diversity in employees and skills.</div><div>  <br>A different method of recruitment and selection would be by using professional associations as a recruitment tool. This method is an external form of recruitment which selects individuals from outside the organization. Online networking can be used as an advantage in the Human Resources arsenal to connect with a wide array of candidates for future job openings. Shell Berhad can use this method to narrow their search for potential candidates by focusing on either a specific role or industry that would benefit them. The advantage of this method is that candidates would have a good knowledge of the industry challenges and requirements because they are focused on a specific role in a specific industry. The only challenges faced by Shell Berhad would be that it may be costly and time consuming to hire recruitment services, furthermore, candidates that are recruited externally may have less commitment than candidates recruited internally.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div>The physiological need in the hierarchy is the most important because if these needs aren’t met, employees wont rise up the hierarchy and achieve more. To ensure their employees are well taken care of, Shell offers a great pay scale that would cover up the most basic needs of employees including rent and bills, taking into account the location, as different states vary in standards of living. <br><br></div><ul><li>Shell believes in happy employees and so champion on flexibility when it comes to how, where and when employees best work, and this encourages them to be able to correspond to whats important to them, at the same time completing their job commitments. </li><li>Furthermore, Shell supports their employees to be involved in other areas of interest such as social responsibility projects, and also providing a variety of leave options including parental leave, personal leave, leave without pay, sporting or volunteering leave to long service leave and compassionate leave. </li><li>To sum it up, Shell prioritizes their employees’ overall well being as they believe that leads to better work productivity.</li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Shell’s Upstream operations have concentrated on the development and extraction of crude oil and natural gas systematically, and cost-effectively. In 1910, Shell had first set up land operations in Sarawak that later served as the fueling force for the nation. Shell also supplies gas to PETRONAS LNG Complex, Asean Bintulu Fertiliser Plant and Sarawak Electricity Supply Corporation. In the pursuit of a Malaysian deepwater centre of excellence, a deep-water semi-floating production system was introduced in 2014 in offshore Sabah, and currently in the development stage of the next project with Malikai, an oilfield about 100km offshore, at a depth of 500 metres. It is expected to produce 60,000 barrels a day.</div>]]></description>

Shell also contributes greatly in the transportation, logging, plantation, mining, industrial, construction, aviation and marine industries in their supply needs. They are the leader for the lubricant market in Sabah and Sarawak, and providing for more than 600 different lubricants for the automotive sector, heavy-duty transport, food processing and power generation.</div>]]></description>

Shell takes the misconduct of harassment very seriously, as diversity and inclusion being an important part of the company, they do not tolerate inappropriate or disrespectful behavior that may be offensive to other cultures. Therefore, the company encourages its employees to be aware of and understand differences within the workplace and treat people with respect. They also provide various agencies within the group for people to go to talk about any inconvenience that occurs. </div>]]></description>

Traditional organizational structures such as Shell Berhad would assign tasks to employees depending on their specialist skills or the functional department within which they work. A self-managed team carries out supporting tasks, such as planning and scheduling the workflow and managing annual leave and absence, in addition to technical tasks. Management and technical responsibilities are typically rotated among the team members.</div>]]></description>
